Heuberg loop hike in Lake Oeschinen
I took the day off to have a-kids free hike with a former colleague to Heuberg in Lake Oeschinen. It is a loop hike around 8.5 km long, starting from the top gondola stations. It took around 4 and half hours including a beer stop along the way. This Unesco heritage region truly deserves its status.
Following the trail signs and keeping to the left, we started the ascent to Heuberg and get a first glimpse of the Lake Oeschinen
The trail is pretty narrow at some points, but not very dangerous
More dangerous might be falling rocks, started by some crazy capricorn, but very unlikely
Kandersteg and Kander valley slide further behind
The Oeschinen Lake is getting more visible
Once on top of the hike, the view is truly spectacular
Proof I was there :P
Picture time over, it’s time to go down
Some to go still, but some cabins can be seen
It’s hard not to take lots of pictures here
The cabins are getting closer
Swiss hiking infrastructure - Chapeau!
The lake looks amazing, but sun umbrellas - that means beer ![]()
cheers!
Can’t wait to take the family to this hike too… I’ve heard May it’s the best time, when all the alps plants blossom.
